Why do I have to register with the media library to get access to your images?
Under our Terms and Conditions you need to have an account to be able to download and view images and accept that you will adhere to all terms/conditions related to the use of our library, including accrediting NITB when using our images.

I cannot remember my username or password - what do I do?
Contact librarian@nitb.com or telephone (028) 9044 1509 and you can request your username or password to be reset.

How do I download an image that I like without the watermark?
Once you have registered and accepted the terms and conditions, you account needs to be activated by NITB.  You need to contact Lynette at NITB on librarian@nitb.com so this can be done.

What is my Lightbox?
Your Lightbox is a folder whereby you can add your favourite images to your account.

How do I add an image to my Lightbox?
Select your chosen image, click on it, and the image will appear on its own, on the right hand side of the page.   There is a tab called ‘Add to Lightbox’, click on this tab.

How do I download an image?
Click on the chosen image and it will say ‘preparing image to download’ and then you will be given the option to open or save the image.

How do I use the Advanced Search Tab?
You can use this search facility to find a specific image by either type or location e.g.(golfing in Newcastle) click on the tag Golf and the tag Newcastle and the website will find images with those tags.  There is unlimited use of the tags in the Advance Search Tab.  There is also an option to remove tags called ‘clear all’ and ‘clear last’.

When I click on a tag it says ‘there were no results found for your search’ why is this?
Your account may not allow you to access certain images because they are new and not due for public release yet.

My account has been activated but I cannot seem to download high-res images or without the watermark , why is this?
You may be using the wrong username.  If your username has changed on being activated, you should receive confirmation by email of your new username.

Is there a charge to use your images?
NITB does not charge users to use our images however you must accept our terms and conditions when registering.

How do I accredit NITB when using any images?
You should include a copyright notice and acknowledgement adjacent to the image which will adhere to the format: Copyright Northern Ireland Tourist Board 2010.

Can I pass downloaded images on to other people?
You cannot loan, rent, deliver, supply, sell, or sub-license any image without prior written consent of NITB. (NB your user details must not be passed onto to other people)

When I register will my personal details be passed onto third level parties?
Your personal information will remain private within NITB and will not be passed onto third level parties.  At times NITB may use your email address to contact you with any updates on images you have downloaded to your Lightbox which have run out of license.
